Fit Tip
Fit Tip: Always measure the distane between your dogs legs as shown in the sizing video and diagram. When in doubt, size up — a slightly roomy fit is comfortable, but too snug can cause discomfort.

Pro Tips

The biggest challenge when carrying a large dog is the initial lift from the ground. Use your environment — it can make all the difference.

  • Use a tree for leverage
Position yourself next to a tree or sturdy branch. Once the sling is fitted, use the tree to pull yourself up while supporting your dog. This dramatically reduces the strain of the initial lift.
  • Use elevation to your advantage
Position your dog on a hill, boulder, or raised surface above you before lifting. The reduced vertical distance makes the lift significantly easier — especially for larger dogs.
  • Practice before you need it
Don't wait for an emergency. Practice the lift at home or on the trail so both you and your dog are comfortable with the process. A familiar carry is a faster, safer carry.
  • Trust the carry position
Your dog will feel lower on your body than expected — and that's correct. Unlike a backpack, a horizontal load carries best when positioned close to your center of gravity. Lower is more stable, more balanced, and easier on your body over distance.

If your dog is between sizes, size up.

Airlift Sizing Guide

If your dog is in between sizes, we recommend buying the larger size. This is not a custom-fit sling — it's safe and functional if the Airlift is a little loose. Please measure your dog to make sure your Airlift will not be too small.

Sizing
Watch this short video to learn how to properly measure your dog and use the Fido Pro Airlift.
This short video explains the high-quality, patented design, materials and features of the Airlift.
Fido Pro invented the lightweight dog rescue sling — the first of its kind ever brought to market. Our patented 8-point suspension system was engineered to distribute weight evenly across your dog's body, providing a fully supported, safe carry with no pressure points. As imitations have entered the market, we've seen designs that lack proper support — putting injured or exhausted dogs at further risk during an already critical moment. When it matters most, trust the original.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my dog and I be safe & comfortable with the Airlift?
Yes — the Airlift V2 was engineered specifically for safe, supported emergency carries. The patented 8-point suspension system distributes your dog's weight evenly across their body, with no pressure points. The V2 includes modular padded shoulder straps — attach them for extra comfort on longer carries, or remove them to keep your pack light. We won't sugarcoat it — the heavier the dog, the more physical effort the carry requires. But it's a lot less painful than leaving your injured dog behind while you go for help. Keep in mind: the Airlift is designed for emergency situations, not extended everyday use.
Is the Airlift recommended by veterinarians?

Yes! Veterinarians have reviewed the Airlift's design and recommend it. Fido Pro is also proud to be a frequent guest speaker at veterinary medicine universities presenting the Airlift as an emergency sling.

Here's what one veterinarian had to say about the Airlift's design:

"Having the confidence to safely and effectively immobilize your dog, and extract them from a remote location to seek medical attention is invaluable. The care and attention to canine anatomy is evident in the Airlift’s design, and the convenience is obvious in the weight of the product." — Dr. Ben Mackin, Veterinarian, Carbondale Animal Hospital

Do I only need the Airlift for longer trails in the backcountry?

No! We highly recommend permanently keeping the Airlift in the bottom of your backpack and always taking it with you, whether you're going on a casual two-mile trail or 10-mile adventure. Even if an injury occurred just a mile from the car, it may be difficult to carry the dog due to their weight or the injury. Depending on the dog's injury, carrying the dog in your arms or on your shoulders may injure the dog further.

And, while it may be possible to carry a medium-size dog for very short distances, like into the vet's office, carrying an injured dog for a mile or more on uneven terrain is a much more difficult circumstance.

What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy on all unused Airlift products in original condition, plus lifetime replacement against any manufacturer defect. Questions? Contact us at orders@fidoprotection.com
Where is Fido Pro based?
Fido Pro was born in Colorado — founded by dog lovers after the founder faced a real emergency with his own dog deep in the backcountry. That experience led to the creation of the Airlift, the original lightweight emergency dog rescue sling. We're headquartered in Colorado, with a European base in Spain — built to serve dog owners on both sides of the Atlantic.
Do you provide discounts for Search & Rescue and First Responders?
